Most BC homeowners pay far less than the sticker price thanks to government rebates. Here's how to think about affordability, plus what's coming on the financing side.

Rebates First, Financing Second
For most BC homeowners installing a heat pump, the conversation about affordability starts with rebates, not loans. The province has substantial programs that don't need to be repaid — and for many households they cover a meaningful chunk of the cost outright.
Quick summary of what's currently available:
- CleanBC standard rebate — up to $4,000 for homes switching from electric baseboards or electric furnace
- CleanBC Energy Savings Program (income-qualified) — up to $13,000 for the heat pump plus up to $5,000 for an electrical service upgrade ($18,000 combined for ESP 1 households converting from gas, oil, or propane). Amounts vary by income level, fuel source, and system type. See the full breakdown →
- FortisBC heat pump rebate — up to $5,000 for FortisBC gas customers
- Federal Oil to Heat Pump (OHPA) — in BC, bundled into the CleanBC income-qualified program (no separate application). Funding window closes July 31, 2026.
For many of our customers, the question isn't "how do I finance this?" — it's "how much do I actually owe after rebates?" Often the answer is way less than you'd expect.
An update on financing
What About Financing?
The federal Canada Greener Homes Loan — the program that previously offered up to $40,000 at 0% interest for energy-efficient upgrades — is no longer accepting new applications. The program was fully subscribed.
We're currently in the process of setting up private financing through a Canadian consumer financing platform. Once that's live, customers will be able to apply for monthly-payment plans on installs and major repairs directly through us.
