Heat Back On — Fast
When your furnace dies on the coldest night of the year, you don't want to hear "next available appointment is Tuesday." Red Fox responds fast with fully stocked trucks, experienced technicians, and parts on hand for the most common failures. Most calls get a tech to your door within 24 hours; for emergencies, often much sooner.
We're approved to work on any brand of furnace, including warranty work for systems we didn't install. Every repair visit includes a complimentary 21-point HVAC inspection and upfront, transparent pricing — you know what it'll cost before we start.
Warning signs
When to Call for Furnace Service
Strange noises
Banging, squealing, or rumbling from your furnace usually points to a specific issue — a worn blower bearing, a loose belt, or ignition trouble. Catch it early and the repair is small. Ignore it and you risk bigger damage.
No heat or weak heat
If your furnace is running but not heating well, common causes include a clogged filter, a faulty igniter, a flame sensor issue, or a thermostat problem. Many of these are quick fixes — but they need a real diagnosis.
Short cycling
If your furnace turns on and off repeatedly without finishing a cycle, it's likely overheating or has a sensor issue. Short cycling burns through components fast.
Yellow flame instead of blue
A yellow burner flame can indicate incomplete combustion and a possible carbon monoxide risk. Shut off the furnace and call us immediately.
Gas smell
If you smell gas: shut off the gas supply, leave the home, and call us from outside. Don't operate any electrical switches.
Tripped breaker
If your furnace keeps tripping the breaker, reset it once. If it trips again, call us — repeated resets can damage the equipment further.
Repair or replace?
When It's Time for a New Furnace
We never push replacement when a repair makes sense. But if your furnace is more than 15 years old, needs frequent repairs, has a cracked heat exchanger, or your gas bills keep climbing, replacement is usually the smarter long-term investment.
We'll give you both numbers — repair cost, and replacement cost (with rebate estimates if you're switching to a heat pump or dual fuel system) — and let you decide. Learn more about furnace installation →
